May.
Up to now, every thing is bright and in a good way. The farmers are joyful and filled with hope. The soil has received much moisture last winter from the amount of snow that has fallen all around Lethbridge, and the fall wheat is looking fine. The spring wheat has been sown also a few weeks ago, and in many country places, the ground is all covered with verdure. The only sad prospect that is in sight now is the miners strike, which started on the first of April, and which is liable to last a few months more. Though a board of conciliaton and arbitration has been appointed and seems to work hard, yet no final arrangement has been made between the operators and the miners. May we come to an end very soon, to relieve the 20 000 men of Alberta and B.C. that are now on strike!

After the initiation, a banquet was tendered to them by the Ladies altar society, a splendid banquet indeed that meet with the entire satisfaction of every body. Hundred and seventy five Knights were present and all listened with the greatest interest to the beautiful speeches that were delivered. T.L. Traynor, Grand Knight, acting as toast master.
At this occasion, we had the visit of several fathers

And a very imposing spectacle it was to see so many parents accompanying their children to the communion rail. The weather was most beautiful and the pure beams of a summer sun added not a little to the splendor of the day.
5   At 8 p.m. this evening, meeting of the C.T.U. members at the priest's house. Was discussed the possibility of increasing the membership of the society, by adding a new degree to the by-laws, in which degree the members would be allowed to take beer and wine and to treat their friends, but at home only. The exclusion of whisky and of the bar rooms is always maintained. Then a resolution was passed to call a mass meeting on the 26th inst. in the K. of P. hall, to the effects of expressing those views to the public.
