March
on the propagation of the Faith.
20 Father Leduc leaves us this afternoon to go to Medicine Hat. By the same train arrived Father Rioux of the Industrial School of Dunban, to pay the Fathers of Lethbridge a short visit, and to attend to an Indian woman sick at the Galt Hospital.
22 Father Holt is leaving by the midnight train for Grassy Lake, where an old dying woman requires him.
24 Father Rosenthal arrives this afternoon from East after nearly four weeks absence. His trip was a good one, and also successful in many ways. He got many valuable informations, with regard to the building of the new Church here, and he has interviewed several parties who can let us have a loan at reasonable conditions, the obtaining of which will allow us to start building about the mouth of May.
27 Father Rosenthal leaves this afternoon for Edmonton and St. Albert. He has to see his Lordship the Bishop to tell him all the result of his trip and investigations, and also the architect Hopkins to the effect of affording some modifications to the plans of the new Church.
29 Father Sylla, the polish priest of Canmore comes here for a week to give an opportunity to our slavish populations here of performing their Easter duty.
30 Father Rioux comes here this morning, to spent [sic] a day, with the Lethbridge Fathers. He goes back this afternoon.

March
31 Father Rosenthal comes back to night from Edmonton, by the midnight train. He has obtained from the Bishop the necessary authorisation [sic] to go ahead with the building of the new Church. He has seen the architect, with regard to the changes of some specifications, and up to now, every thing looks satisfactory.
April 7 Father Sylla goes back to Canmore. Whilst here, he has visited a good part of the Slavish population, and the confessions and Easter communions of these people have been numerous. Most of them have fulfilled their duty.
16 Easter Sunday. The members of the C.T.U. and the K. of C. received communion in a body, and indeed it was a nice spectacle to see those men filling the pews of the front part of the Church and receiving their God with a great piety and tender devotion in the presence of a large attendance that crowded the capacity of the edifice.
24 Grand social held in the K. of P. Hall. About 80 persons took part in the usual progressive euchre party. After the distribution of the prizes, two young ladies and Wm. English gave the audience nice songs with accompaniement [sic] on the piano, which were highly appreciated by all. Then lunch and refreshments were served, and every one present made honor to the delicacies provided for by the ladies’ Altar Society.
May 1 Visit of Father Salaun who comes from Piegan Reserve to pay us a visit. He is accompanied by a little boy of his mission.
10 Last night we had a good shower of rain, that will do much good to the country and to the crops.
