24 Father Meyer goes to Taber and Father Holt to Grassy Lake.
25 Fine service at Midnight. The Church was overcrowded. Over two hundred communions have been distributed. All enjoyed the gracious decorations of the Altar and of the Crib, where a good number of electric lambs of various colors projected their sparkling lamps [crossed out] light amid the branches of the firs. Under the wand of professor Trembley, the choir executed nicely the Leonard mass in music, accompanied by the organ, one violin, one cello violin and one French horn.
During the day, mass at 8 o.clock, 9 o.clock for the children, and high mass at eleventh ["th" crossed out], with a good attendance once more. Father Rosenthal presented the congregation with his best Chrismas [sic] greetings.

Jan. 1 The new year has been inaugurated in a very sad manner, with regard to the divine service. The furnace of the Church has been out of order, and it is impossible to light it without having the church filled with smoke Consequently the masses have been said in the Convent’s school hall.
Father Meyer holds the divine service in Grassy [crossed out] Warner, and Father Hold in Grassy-Lake (city). The weather is very cold. In the whole southern Alberta a thick coat of snow covers the ground.
6 Feast of the Epiphany and first Friday of the month. The furnace has been repaired and the Church is warm and confortable [sic]. But in reason of the severe Temperature we have not very many com-

munions, neither a great attendance at Church.
7 Father Meyer and Father Holt take the train this morning on the A. K and L. line, to go, the former to Milk River, the latter to Coutts. The weather keeps always very cold.
8 This morning after high Mass, the Blessed Sacrement [sic] has been carried away from the Church, to hold a meeting of the men of the parish for the purpose of nominating counsellors or trustees of the parish, according to the regulations of the Bishop. Several nominations have been made and the elections will take place next sunday [sic]. The following gentlemen have been nominated: amongst the english [sic] speaking persons: L. M. Johnstone – T.D. Kevin F.A. Hart – E.J. Sehl – E. Power – F. Kenney – J.J. Doyle – A. V. Gibbons – T. L. Trayner – Dan. J. McCormick. --- Amongst the slavish speaking persons: Steve Backus – Mike Vaslenyak jr. – John Filshak – Mike Supinor – Matt. Vaslenyak jr.
14 Father Meyer goes to Grassy Lake and Fath Hold to Taber. They will come back Wenesday [sic] as the raffle of the two town lots in Taber is to take place on Tuesday evening.
