Mr. McKillop proposed a vote of thanks to the Rev’ Lecturer, seconded by Lawyer Atkinson, and at the motion of the chairman all stood up in a body tendering Their vote of thanks to Father Sinnett .. immediately after were given some 150 fine views of the war and South Africa. 1902 [front/left margin] June 5th The sad news has arrived that our beloved Bishop Grandin has died… For 30 years he was the head of the church of St Albert - For 45 years he has worked as a bishop in the N.W.Territories. Great is the loss!!!
The Father goeth [sic] to the funeral and will be absent for about a week.
June [front/left margin] Our Saintly Bishop Grandin was burried [sic] under the Sanctuary of the old wooden cathedral. There was an immense concourse of people, though the weather was very bad. The roads are unpracticable [sic]. Never was there so heavy a rainfall in Alberta as we have this Spring. Our River here in Lethbridge rose 23 feet above its low water mark. Our heavy bridge was partly carried away and many houses have been destroyed in the river bottoms. Great is the loss of property.
