Annual retreat; Brother Thomas consacrated [sic] himself for life to God, in the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
The Brothers will return to the Industrial School on next Monday night.
We learn, to day, that our Saintly Father Perrault went to    Dec 10th [written in back/right margin]
Heaven, on the Feast of Mary Im. at 2 ½ in the morning.
What a beautiful day to die on !! !!!
Christmas is celebrated with the usual solemnities          Dec. 26 [written in back/right margin]
The English speaking people present a purse to the Priest with $55°°
The Austrian Catholics every month present about $ 20°°
Our winter is not severe. We had some small-Pocks [sic] in Town….
Our Holy week is passed … we had the ceremonies customary…

    His Lordship Bishop Legal will administer a few Confirmations

  John arrived by last nights Train … we had solemn High Mass…The Bishop preached and confirmed after mass.
The Rev’ Father Lacase addressed the Congregation at the evening service.   It rained all the day along and very few were at church.                  June 11 [written in back/right margin]
The Rev ‘ Father Leduc arrived last night and will stay for a day.
Joseph VanTighem arrived from Montreal College this morning       Jun 16 [written in back/right margin]

Last night the pupils of the Convent School gave their annual entertainment. An address was read and a presentation of a purse made to Father VanTighem on the occasion of his 50th birthday.
The Father left this morning for McLeod and Calgary and from        25 [written in back/right margin]
there shall procede [sic], in company with R. Father Lacombe to St Paul Minesota [sic], to be present at the Jubilee… the 50th anniversary of the arrival there of the first Bishop . Mgr Cretin. .

were there at that time and are still living.
June 7 [written in front/left margin] The Father returned from St Paul last night. Having left via : C. P. R. and Soo Line, he returned by the great Northern and Shelby function.   It was a glorious celebration in St Pauls a dozen Bishops and Four Hundred Priests were there. Mass was celebrated in the open air, on the Seminary grounds Four Thousand people assisted.   Archbishop Ireland preached the Sermon, which was very eloquent. In the afternoon the corner stone of the seminary chapel was laid and the Sermon preached by Bishop O. Gorman who is a very powerfull [sic] speaker.   R.F. Lacombe has remained a few days longer in St. Paul to enterview [sic] the Archbishop. We received free Passes at J.J. Hills offices to return home. R. Father Levern said mass here once; and Father Therrien arrived here also for the second Sunday but the Father had returned himself in Time, to announce to his people that the Jubilee mission is to begin on Wednesday night. 10th of July.
Jun. 10 [written in front/left margin] Rev Father Sinnet arrived here yesterday; will open the Jubilee retreat to night. We shall have Mass followed by an instruction every morning at 8 O’Clock – and in the evening also at 8 O’. Sermon, followed by Benediction.
13th. [written in front/left margin] All our children came to Confession yesterday Afternoon, and those above their first communion came to Communion this morning – Last night the Rev’ Father gave a magnificent Sermon on death.
To morrow is the last day of the little retreat = our Slavish Catholics come to their Confession to night.   News arrives from St. Albert, that R. Père Remas has died . R.I.P.    Amen!!!
Yesterday, one of our young catholics [sic] instead of coming to the sermon went to play football on the square … when his mother returned home from church she found her boy with his collar bone broken at her door, where Two of his companions had brought him. May the admonition be fruitful to him!
