the two Brothers Bowes and Brochard who have worked at our Convent schools for about two months, will go to the Blood Reserve for about two weeks.
Our convent school has now one hundred and six children on the roll. Two boarders were sent here from Montana a son and daughter of Mr. Coole, Rancher and Custom Officer at Sweet Grass. The boy lodges at the Fathers.
Our good Father Lestanc only stayed two days in Lethbridge, he left this morning by the stage to MacLeod Sep.t 5 [written in the back/right margin]
Sep.t 18th The rev.d Father Legal arrives in Lethbridge with two sisters, Grey Nuns, from the blood Reserve Hospital. They come for the purpose of purchasing, linnens [sic], cottons, flannels etc. etc…for the use of the hospital.
The reverend Father Therrien from Med. Hat has arrived also and will remain for next Sunday.
Sept. 20 – We have some snow to day and the weather is rather cold.
The news has arrived that Sir Alex. Galt from Montreal has died yesterday.
Sept. 25 – To day, two young men, Thomas and Lawrence Morkin, leave for the Noviciat of the Holy Angels, Lachine. May God bless them, may they make a solid noviciati [sic], and may they, at the end of the year of probation, return to us, armed with the Cross of the Oblates !!!
Oct 21st Father VanTighem leaves his Mission of Lethbridge for about ten days, in order to assist the annual retreat, which takes place at Calgary this year. Being absent for two Sundays, the service on Sunday morning will be presided by Mr. Powell, who will recite the Holy Rosary – read the Epistle and Gospel of the day; while the Sisters with their pupils will sing Hymns and Canticles.

Nov. 1 [written in the front/left margin] When leaving Lethbridge the weather was beautiful but during the night the wind changed north and a few inches of snow covered the ground. After a day or two, it cleared up however; But on returning to Lethbridge, it became again cold and frosty.
The Revd Father Lacombe preached the retreat, to the Fathers of this district. were present at the retreat.
R.R. Fathers : Lestanc, Lacombe, Doucet, Legal, VanTighem, Foisy, Naassens, Terrien, et Comiré, ainsi que les Frères Converts: Bowes, Brochard, Barrassé, et Petit demanche. Notre Frère scolastique Danis y assistait aussi. Our scolastic [sic] Brother Danis assisted also.
Nov 6 [written in the front/left margin] Our school has been closed for over two weeks on account of the measels [sic]; almost all the children are prostrated, and the small ones are seriously in danger.
We have benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and the H. rosary prayers every night, for the departed souls in purgatory. These devotions will continue during the octave of All Souls, and take place at 4 P.M. at the Convent Chapel.
Nov. 15 [written in the front/left margin]; “Grassy Lake” [written underneath in pencil] Father VanTighem went up, last Monday, to Grassy Lake, where a Catholic family, Mr. Devine is living. This people, having no opportunity to come to town were deprived for many month from all religious services. Therefore the father went up and said mass for them, heard their confession and gave Holy Communion. The weather is beautiful, but our heavy winds are very inconvenient.
