To day a Lethbridge boy Johny Murray, departs for a Nov. 17 [written in the back/right margin]
College in Quebec. Last year the reverend Father Lacombe obtained from the different directors of the Canadian Colleges, the priviledge [sic] of sending one boy to their instition [sic] respectively. These boys, there to be educated for the holy priesthood. About eight boys have already been sent. John Murray is about fourteen years of age. N. 20 [written in the back/right margin]
A man, father of six children, was run over, last night near the shaft. – He died a few hours after. We have snowstorms succeeding one another too frequently.
The weather is very cold for several days, and the 29 N. [written in the back/right margin]
thermometer is frequently below 0.
Our school opened again last Monday, after having been closed by order of the doctor, on account of the measels [sic] which have been spread all over town.
Several little children have succumbed from the desease [sic].
A strong Chinook-Wind has made the snow disappear Dec. 3 [written in the back/right margin]
fast. There was a large congregation at Mass, but very few people in the evening, the roads being very moddy [sic]. A concert, in favor of the Cath. Mission is to take place on Wednesday next. Mr. Powell, Mrs Tennant and Miss Tucker are the organisers [sic].
Dec. 8th The concert was a great success.
The net receipts were about one hundred dollars. The feast of the Immaculate Conception was better observed than any time before – a large congregation assembled at Mass. We had our usual procession at 3. OCl. [sic] in the afternoon, about two dozen of little girls were dressed in white.

Dec. 17. [written in the front/left margin] After a few cold days, we have again our mild chinook winds blowing. Imagine that in December 17th We open our doors and windows from early till late. – my little canary bird hangs outside and sings the praises of the Lord . – No fire in church to day and although very muddy there was a large crowd of people attending at High Mass.
Dec. 25 [written in the front/left margin] Yesterday, Sunday and to day Christmas-day there has been a very large Congregation attending the Church Services, both morning and night. Last night Confessions were heard till after midnight. It is the first time that so many approach the Sacrament on a festival day.
Our mild weather Continues – We scarcely need any fire in Church.
Dec. 27 [written in the front/left margin] Last night our children had their Christmas Tree in the new schoolrooms … about one hundred and fifty children with their parents attended. Young Mr. Tennant Henri was St Nicholaus and was a good one indeed.
Dec. 30 [written in the front/left margin] A concert was given last night, by the schoolchildren, to their parents and friends. It was the first time that strangers were invited. and a large crowd had assembled in the school. Our young actors and actresses did very wel [sic], far better than we all expected.
