a general communion which was to take part this morning; but great has been his disappointment when he saw but a small number approaching the holy Table. He could not help manifesting his grief to the congregation and he took an opportunity therefrom to urge his flock to the frequentation of the Sacrements [sic].
From the pulpit an important and consoling message was read, that came from Bishop Legal in Montreal. At the last regular meeting of the K. of C. which took place Tuesday last 6 inst. it was decided on the motion of F.A. Hart, to send a lettergram to Bishop Legal in Montreal to assure him thereby that the Knights of Columbus of the Lethbridge Council 1490 were realising [sic] the full importance of the Eucharistic Congress and expressing their best wishes as well as their most sincere feelings of sympathy for the success of said Congress. The Lettergram was sent on the following day, the very day of the opening of the Congress, by Fath. Rosenthal, Chapelain; and his answer that came from Montreal was read in the pulpit this morning. It was as follows: Telegram received. Communicated to papal Legate. Very thankful for sentiments expressed. Congress started under the best auspices.
This afternoon reopening of the Sunday school. At half past three, benediction of the Blessed Sacrement [sic] for the children. The church was nearly filled.
14 Father Sylla goes to Canmore, et Fath. Meyer to Diamond City.
