18 This afternoon at the meeting of the C.T.U. a debate took place between Mr. Hart and Fath. Rosenthal. The subject was: that total abstinence is better than the moderate use of intoxicating liquors.
20 The most interesting and the most attended meeting of the K. of C. that has ever been seen since the initiation.
24 Father Meyer goes to Milk River to hold the service to-morrow.
29 Father Sylla comes back from Canmore from [crossed out] to Lethbridge.
Oct. 1 Father Bidault goes to Coutts and Father Meyer to Taber
2 First Sunday of October, feast of the most holy Rosary – Great attendance at Church. Patronal feast of two societies: the Ladies of the Rosary, and St Michael’s society. Father Sylla preaches in polish [sic] at high Mass. In the evening, parade through the streets of the city, of the various societies of Lethbridge to which our catholic societies did not join, under the plea that they did not want to contribute in the raising of a fund, up to this destined to the Hospital, but this year – turned out in the hands of a committee that nobody knows.
4 Visit of Father Lajat, coming to Lethbridge to attend the meeting of the Knights of Colombus [sic].
8 Father Sylla is called to Canmore by télegramme [sic], to give ecclesiastical burial to

the body of one of his parishioners recently deceased.
Father Meyer goes to Taber where he has to bless a marriage this very day, and from there will direct his steps to Grassy in order to give the people of this town the benefit of Holy Mass to morrow.
15 Father Meyer goes to Diamond City.
17 Splendid social held to-night in St. Augustine’s Hall. The musical program specially was w [crossed out] very satisfactory, the best we ever had up to now. Though the weather was very bad this social has been well patronised [sic], and the Hall was filled. Over eighty persons were present. Results proved sussesful [sic].
18 Regular meeting of the K. of C.
20 Social meeting of the members of the C.T.U. held in one of the school rooms of the Convent. A debate took place between Fath. Meyer and Fath Bidault, this latter sustaining the these that total abstinence is better than the moderate use of liquors, and the former raising objections to destroy the said these.
22 Fath Meyer goes to Warner and from there in the country. He will be absent from Lethbridge the whole next week.
24 Father Rosenthal rents the Johnstone house that he bought last May on Block 36, the Bishop having not found advisable for the priests to move there before the starting of the new Church. The price is a very reasonable one: 45 dollars per month.
