After a most severe winter, our May month starts-in May 12 [back/right margin]
cold and dry… on the Twelfth of this month we have had no warm weather.
His Lordship Bishop Legal will be here for Pentecost the 19th. May… Confirmation.
Monseigneur Legal, administered the Holy Sacrament of 20th [back/right margin]
Confirmation to 24 persons of this parish.
His Lordship celebrated Himself the High Mass and the Revd Father Leduc preached.
There were present for the occasion : Reverend Fathers Grandin Henri our Vicar, Leduc, Lacombe, Culerier, Le Chevalier, Turbiaux from Med. Hat.
These Reverend Fathers had come especially to Lethbridge for the celebration of the Jubilee of 25 years of priesthood of Father VanTighem.

Warner (formerly Brunton) on our Southern railway, about 45 miles South of Lethbridge a new Town; these wrote to Lethbridge asking if the priest could go and say mass there for them; so the father went yesterday, and said H. Mass there immediately after the traim [sic] arrived about Ten O.C. a.m. It was at Mr. Mangin’s residence that the first Mass was celebrated… that is upstairs, above the hardware store… There were Mr and Mrs Mangin, child. Mr. Egau from the Hotel – also Mr. Kaspar - - Mr. Joyce - and Mr Henri Tennant. The Father returned the same day.
Coutts [pencil writing front margin] The Revd Father Emard O.M.I. was here for a week, preaching the July 12 [back/right margin] retreat to our Sisters… the Revd Father was kind enough to give Two sermons in the church also last Sunday. Father VanTighem went to Coutts this week also….it was decided there to make a small addition to the church.. Two small rooms for the Priest.

July [front/left margin] We have rain nearly everyday…the country looks most beautiful ; for many years the grass has not been so plentiful. Our land office is filled everyday by people, making homestead – entrees … no one ever thought of seing [sic] such an influx of people to the NorthWest.
15 [front/left margin] There will, perhaps, be a half dozen apples on our Trees… The currents are plentiful - - also a good crop of strawberries.
Dec 15 [front/left margin] Bad news arrives from Europe – our very Reverend Superior General is dying… in fact has already received the last Sacraments …. It appears there is no hope of recovery.. except, of course, by a miracle of God.
26 [front/left margin] We had midnight mass, and all was very quiet and pious .. many could not get in the little church.
31 [front/left margin] Rev & Father Lanfer will stay a short time at Lethbridge awaiting the moment he shall preached [sic] some retreat in the United States.

Jan 2d [front/left margin] We had our Christmass [sic] Tree, yesterday, new years [sic] day, at 3 O’Clock P.M. over 200 children were there. The collection at High Mass yesterday, was for the H. Father… and offering for His Golden Jubilee Mass.. $16°°
We have had no winter yet, so far,
a few days ago a young girl, who was an Anglican by faith before was received in the Church and baptised subcondition.
7th [front/left margin] Mr. Charles Wood, a convert, was married this morning to the eldest daughter of J.K. Barrett from Winnipeg, in our Convent Chapel a parishener [sic] who for over Thirty years had not been to confession, came to his duties…confessed and will receive H. Communion next Sunday, with his wife who is overjoyed.
