Jan 31 On Jan 30th there was a meeting of the men and young men of the parish for the purpose of considering the possibility of orga [crossed out] establishing a Council of the Knights of Columbus in Lethbridge. The meeting, held in the nave of the Church, was very well attended and most of those present decided to join the K of C. So it was decided by the actual members of the K of C to go ahead with the organization of a Council.
Feb. 4. On Monday evening, January, 31st, The Ladies and Gentlemen of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, gave one of their usual Progressive-Euchre party socials, in Harper’s Musical Hall, at the corner of Bompas and Ashmeat[sic] Sts. A large crowd was present. Beautiful and enjoyable music was furnished by the members of Mr. Biner’s Orchestra composed of the following. Mr. V. Bines, First Violin; Mr. A. Hoselton, Clarionet [sic]; Mr. Fish, Cornet; Mr. A. Needham, Accompanist on the Piano. The Orchestra was ably assisted by Prof. J. B. Tremblay who is a fine performer on the Violin-Cello. A most enjoyable evening was spend[sic]. When the meeting dispersed, each one voted the members of the several committees having charge of these socials, to be entertainers of the finest Class and expressed: the desire that these socials would be continued from time to time, when convenient, during the coming year.
