There are actually Two Sisters of mercy from Winnipeg, in town. One of      Nov 14 [back/right margin]
them is Sister Piché, the daughter of our estimed [sic] octogenarian.. She is the sister of our good Butcher of Piché and Miron, and of course, aunt of his children, for in that Blessed Home there are actually Three generations in full bloom.   After a few days of cold weather, it has turned quite warm, again.
We have 20 below 0 this morning… but it is nice and calm.         Dec 6 [back/right margin]
We hear that R.P. Lacombe has returned from his Begging expedition in Eastern Canada. R. Father Lebret remains about the same.
Christmass [sic] has passed with the costumary [sic] solemnities          26 [back/right margin]
Midnight Mass and High mass were both well attended; many confessions and holy Communions.

The first day of the year has already disappeared … we have beautiful weather. The Masses to day were well attended.
Brother John Morkin has arrived here from the industrial school. His health is far from good, and he comes here for a good rest and to consult our eminent doctor Mewburn.
Brother Lalican, an old and very devoted Brother oblate has been called to his reward. Almighty God knows better than anyone of us, the good this faithful servant of God has performed in our missions…. May his Soul rest in peace !!! Amen.
Epiphany; magnificent weather…. some are working in their gardens. Mr. W. Lyndon is visiting here.
Brother John Morkin is much improved. The stomack [sic] pump and the doctors medecin [sic] have almost cured him entirely. He will return to the school in about            Jan 10 [back/right margin]
two weeks. We have a nice snowfall to day, and it looks quite wintery to day.
We have received the sad news of the death of R.P. Lebret, the Priest in charge of the McLeod mission: after many months of patient sufferings he died on the 5th of this month at the Holy Cross hospital of Calgary where he had gone since a few weeks. May God reward his many years of hard labor in the Vineyard of His church!

Feb 18t [front/left margin] Father VanTighem went to McLeod for the feast of the 17th Feb. were there: R.R.P.P. Lestanc. Doucet. Danis. Riou. Lepine. Levern. Salaën,    and Brother Bareau. “No Father Lacombe”
Rev & Mr. Jeanotte visited Lethbridge last week.
March 8t [front/left margin] The news of the death of Mr. Lyndon at Calgary arrives here. The Father goeth [sic] to McLeod for the funeral.
10th [front/left margin] Another death is announced, one of our boys, Dan Delay, has been crushed between Two cars at Ferny, and died a few days after.
He will be burried [sic] here to-morrow
22 [front/left margin] A Basilian monk from Edmonton has visited our Szlovacs [sic], remaining for Three days. A collection was made for him, amounting a little over $ 30°. He heard about 30 confession and baptised and confirmed Two children.
“ [front/left margin] Two Sisters from Blackfoot Crossing were also collecting here in Town and made about $90°°
29 [front/left margin] We had the visit of the renown Father Drummond S. J. and he gave a Lecture here on the Reasonableness of Faith. He is a fine speaker and his Lecture was very well received. The proceeds of the Lecture amounted to $ 64°° and were handed over to the Public Hospital fund.
April [front/left margin] Easter was celebrated with great Solemnity… The church was well filled at the first mass… a hundred communions… no stanting [sic] place sufficient at the High Mass. The blessing of eatables took place after the first mass as usual. Last week, was received in the Church, Mrs. Johnstone, the wife of our Lawyer. Over 300 persons have already performed their Easter duties…
R.P. Doucet came here for Two days this week.
17 May [front/left margin] The small mining Town of Frank, on the East Slope of the Rockies has almost been burried [sic] beneath a huge mountain of limestone which felt on part of the village at 4 A M. on the 29th of April…millioens [sic] of Tonn [sic] of Rock lay now in the cannyon [sic]. Nearly a hundred people have been crushed and killed, and some lay burried [sic] till the day of the general Resurrection. It will take months before the Crow Nest R.R. will be able to resume her operations of Traffic. This is all very sad and terrible!
