Nov. 14 [written in back/right margin/corner] where the Father visited, approached the Sacraments. There were no exceptions. Mr. Macdonald brought the father back to McLeod the same day, where he took the train of 7 O’clock in the evening and arrived at Lethbridge at 9 ½ P.M.
A telegram called the father to MacLeod again         Nov. 19 [written in back/right margin]
on the 17th. Our good and saintly Bishop, Mgr Grandin had just arrived in MacLeod and His Lordship wished to see the fathers.   Therefore father VanTighem took the train on Friday morning to return the same night. Mgr. Grandin seems to be in good health. R. Father Lebret is also improving, but the doctors order a complete rest for Two or Three months; in conquence [sic] the R. Father will visit his brethren in Manitoba and take the well earned repose.
We had lately two conversions and baptisms of adults; a certain Miss Carman for a long time assisted at the services of the church; having to undergo a dangerous operation on account of the new-commun [sic]-disease of appendicities [sic], she came and begged to be received in the church as the Father was to be absent for over a week. Although she was not sufficiently prepared we would not refuse her just request and we baptised [sic] her under condition.   The same day Miss Ragglen from Montana, aged about sixteen, was also baptised [sic]. Her father professes no religion whatever, but her mother was a Catholic.    I heard rumors of two more who wish to enter the True Fold of the Good Shepherd.
The operation on Miss Carman has been very successful and    Nov. 21st [written in back/right margin]
she doing well.
Christmass [sic] has come and passed. It was celebrated as usual with all    Dec 26 [written in back/right margin]
due solemnity… But a horrible wind storm prevented many, especially ladies from coming to Church both at Midnight and at High mass during the day; However, the church was well filled.

Jan 20 [written in front/left margin] The annual retreat for the Oblate Fathers has taken place at St Albert. It was the Reverend Father Lestanc who preached this retreat. The Coadjutor Bishop Legal had just returned from France and from Rome. The father of Lethbridge also went to the retreat, so that he was absent for over Three weeks; However the Rev & Father Lepine O.M.I. came on one of these Sundays and celebrated Mass in Lethbridge.
On his return form the retreat Father VanTighem was sent by Med. Hat where the Blessed Sacrament had been left in the Church, the Priest, Mr. Pujas, being sick and gone to the Calgary hospital.   Things are going far from smoothly in that place; the Priest will not be able to remain there.
Feb. 6 [written in front/left margin] Our Coadjutor Bishop Mgr Legal came and surprised us last week. Having been called to Medecin hat [sic] on account of the existing difficulties between the Priest and the parishenors [sic] of that place. His Lordship arrived here at 5 O’Clock in the morning, all alone, and on his way to visit the Indian reservations of the Piegans and Blood.    Mgr. remained here only two days and confirmed a few persons who would likely not be here next summer at the appointed time for confirmation.
March 10th [written in front/left margin] During the Holy Time of Lent we have the Stations of the Cross every Wednesday and Friday… but these pious exercises are not as well attended as in previous years. The weather has been very cold and stormy, and this is one of the reasons… another is: the removal of most of our Slavs to the shaft called No 3 which is about a mile from church. We could not expect these poor miners to come so far through cold and stormy weather, after their fatiguing work of the day. When this people lived in town, the church was well filled during lenten exercises.
May [written in front/left margin] We have the daily exercises of the month of Mary at Seven O’Clock, every evening.
